Chapter 19

I might have misjudged Alexander. If didn't he care for the Henrique he wouldn't be playing with him. If he didn't care, I wouldn't have looked so happy with him.
I couldn't help but smile. They looked super-cute together. Henrique could pass for his son since they had the same dashing looks.
Maybe Henrique was his son.
No, he made it clear that he wasn't Henrique's father and I believed him even though he didn't have it in him to believe me.
He pushed the Popeyes door open and signal me to enter when I did he followed after me.
I mumbled a thank you, but he didn't respond. I looked over him, not exactly sure what his plan is.
"What do you wanna eat?" he questioned looking at the menu.
I followed his gaze and looked up at the orange and white menu board. "I'll just have the two-piece, I eat every part of the chicken so I don't really care which one I get. I want fries no soda, water would be good." I looked across at him. "For Henrique, you can buy one of the potato salad, he loves that."
He turned and look at me, "Is that all you want?"
"Yea, I guess."
"If you want something else you can have it."
I scratch my head a little, "Okay, can I get more fries. Popeyes fries are the best."
He nods and walked over to join the line.
I rushed over to him. "Give me, Henry. Are we eating here?"
"Yea." He responded.
"Okay, I'll go find a seat." I pushed out my hands and the baby gladly fall in it. I smile up at him. When he was safely in my arms I start looking around for a seat. I spot a nice clean one close to the window. I quickly walked over it and sat before anyone else could get it.
It is almost 12 pm so the lunch rush is going to start any minute now, thank god we made it in before then.
I looked at the baby in my lap, he was looking at someone across from us. In his hand, he held a drip since he was teething he needed something to comfort him when the pain came on.
Alexander places the packed tray on the table and took a seat facing me. "Give me the baby, I'll hold him."
"Okay." I lifted Henrique high enough, so he could pass over the table, soon enough he was settled in his brother's arms.
"I bought six pieces of chicken and four fries. This is the chicken box, this is the fries box." He points at the boxes respectively. "We share from the boxes. This right here is the mash potatoes."
"This is a lot of food."
"I am a growing man."
You are indeed.
I offered a small smile.
"You can go ahead and start eating, I'm going to feed Henrique while I'm eating so you don't have to wait on me." He was opening the lid of the mashed potatoes.
"Okay." Following his instructions, I opened the fries box first.
I quickly take up one of the wet wipes and use it to clean my hands. Cleaning my hands before food was just something I had to do. It was probably the only thing that my mother insists on us to do.
"Girls, you need to wash your hands before a meal." Her voice rang in my head.
My sweet dear mother who I haven't spoken to in over three years, all because of Kalliyah.
I took up the first fry and placed it in my mouth. I could help but moan at how good it tasted.
I heard a chuckle, so I lifted my head up to look across from me. All of Alexander's attention was on Henrique but he had a smile on his face.
"Don't judge me, these fries are to die for."
I shake his head then lifted it to look at me, "I am not." He used his free hand to take out a fry and put it in his mouth. When he finished chowing, "They really are the best fries."
"Yea, it's because they're different from the rest. I love the seasoning that they used on it."
"Me too." Finally, we agreed on something.
I let out a laugh all of a sudden which earned me a few looks including Alexander's.
"What's wrong?"
Shaking my head, I smile. "I don't think I should tell you this" I mustn't tell him what I think about him.
"Why not? Go ahead."
"Well," I hesitate then place a piece of chicken in my mouth. "You are not as bad as thought you were, I might have misjudged you."
He raised his brows at me, "Misjudged me? In what ways?"
"Well, for starters you're not as cruel. I've been watching you with Henrique and your so sweet with him, you treat him as if he's your even though he's not. Then you come to Popeyes. like I haven't come across many millionaires in my life, but I don't think they come to Popeyes." All the movies I've watched showed that they went to fancy places for lunch, breakfast and dinner. Some of them didn't even know what a Mc. Donald burger looks like.
"Just to clarify, I'm not a millionaire. I'm a billionaire and I'm not saying this in a way to flaunt. I do like to go to fast food restaurants. I don't make it an everyday thing like some persons, but I do. You're right not a lot of wealthy people come to places like this when we can go to fancier place."
"See, you also don't seem like the fast-food type." His muscles were proof of this.
"I'm not, to be honest. Ms. Wilson takes good care of me but when I'm away I do lose control, especially there is a Tim Horton's' close to where I'm at."
